- Spring and Summer Volunteers. We have lots of indoor and

woodworking experience to help us with a few projects and
someone interested in Earth Education to help with program
delivery in the Spring. If
you or someone you know is interested in any of these volunteer
positions or your group would like to set up a workday, please
call the camp office at 384-1755.

Earth Education for Bedford Hills School
Each classroom at Bedford
Hills
School will participate in a nature field trip to our camp
this school year. That’s 21 programs and a total of 465 kids!! Do
not be afraid. The children are divided into small groups in
programs are that are arranged throughout the school year,
well-organized, and pre-crafted for ease of instruction. All we
need you to do is introduce the activity and have fun! You simply
need to call me and make a commitment to teach for a day… or two…or
three…or…! For the upper elementary level, grades 3, 4, and 5, we
need you to be the assistant (a.k.a. “Gopher”—an effortless, but
vital responsibility for the kid’s learning experience!).
Spring 08 dates: 3rd and 4th grade: see
“Spring Program” below.
5th grade: “Earth Ed. Concept Path”

Earth Education at Camp KBY “Spring Program”
Through a
cooperative effort with
Randolph
College; we
offer special programs for 3rd and 4th grade
students. Camp staff and Randolph College students of elementary
education lead them through a variety of outdoor activities as they
explore the forest, meadow, and pond of Camp Kum-Ba-Yah. This
program is unique because all of the activities were designed to be
inquiry-based, student driven, and completely hands-on. Once again,
we need your help. This year we are short on college students and
long on program commitments-- a tolerable “side effect” of Master
Partnerships with Bedford Hills, T. C. Miller, and
Paul
Munro
Schools. We’re
looking for that rare find—a unique individual available to teach or
be a group leader for the duration of the “Spring Program” season.
Spring 08 dates:
Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 11 – April 22 (not 3/25, 3/27,
4/15)
