Camp Kum-Bah-Yah is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving all the children of our community.
Each summer, many campers receive financial "camperships" allowing them the opportunity of summer camp. In its entire history, Camp Kum-Ba-Ya has never turned away a child due to financial need.
The camp receives financial support throughout the year from individuals, congregations, businesses and community organizations. All donations are tax deductible.
Accreditation
Camp Kum-Ba-Yah is proud to be fully accredited by the American
Camp Association (ACA) and in all respects meet the high standards of this organization.
The camp is evaluated every three years to affirm that these standards are maintained.
Enrollment & Admissions
Camp Kum-Ba-Yah accepts campers on a first come first serve basis. We encourage early enrollment.

Counselor-In-Training Program
The Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Program is a 7 week program open to qualified applicants ages 14-15.
CITs work with their Program Director learning leadership skills and exploring and expanding the individual gifts and talents each has to offer.
CITs translate knowledge into practical experience working with the younger camper groups. Applications are available in the “Forms” section.
International Counselors
Each summer, Camp Kum-Ba-Yah welcomes international counselors from around the world. In recent summers we have had international counselors
from Trinidad, Germany, France, Egypt, and Kenya! International counselors are hosted by local families, and we are always seeking families willing to share their home with these special friends.

Driving Directions
From the North: Take 29 South to Main St. Follow Main
St. to Rivermont Ave. (the name changes just as you leave the
downtown area.) Continue on Rivermont Ave. for approximately 4.5
miles (the road name changes again, this time to Boonsboro Rd.) You
will pass a Kroger on the left and shortly after will come to a stop
light. After passing through the light you will see Spottswood
Place on your left, continue on past three or four more houses and
you will see a blue sign on the left that says ”Church of the
Covenant” and “Lodge of the Fishermen.” Along with this sign there
is a very small Camp Kum-Ba-Yah sign. Turn Left into the driveway
and follow it all the way back to the parking lot. The Camp office
is at the end of a light colored wooden walkway.
From the South: Take the 501 bypass N to Old Forest Rd. At
the second stoplight turn left picking 501 up again. Follow 501 to
the stoplight. Go through the light and you will be on Boonsboro
Rd. (don’t turn left). Follow Boonsboro past the Food Lion store on
your right. You will then see Peakland United Methodist Church on
your left. Just past the church you will see a blue sign on the
right that says ”Church of the Covenant” and “Lodge of the
Fishermen.” Along with this sign there is a very small Camp
Kum-Ba-Yah sign. Turn right into the driveway and follow it all the
way back to the parking lot. The Camp office is at the end of a
light colored wooden walkway.
