Kum-Ba-Yaha community-wide circle of friendship
homeSo Much to Do!
Let's get started!
Morning Openings and Afternoon Closing are special times at Camp Kum-Ba-Yah. Every morning, children, counselors, families and friends begin each day together with songs and announcements. In the afternoon, everyone joins together again at 3:00 p.m. for songs, skits, and our special closing Friendship Circle.

Outdoor Cooking
Everyone works together to prepare and cook lunch over an open fire at his or her campsite. Delicacies include stir fry, burritos, and camp stew. Teamwork gets the job done!

Songs & Games
Campers and staff enjoy a multitude of songs and games throughout every day at camp. Our games emphasize cooperation, team building, and fun, rather than competition. Everyone wins!

Arts & Crafts
Campers have the opportunity to create many treasures--friendship bracelets, leaf paintings, and tie-dyed shirts are just a sample. Emphasis is on the creative process and using materials from the natural world.

The KBY Garden
The KBY Garden kids plant, grown and harvest their own fruits and vegetables!
The fresh food is implemented in their daily lunch here at the camp, helping to promote health lifestyles and your green thumb.

Aquatics
Campers receive swimming instruction each day and also enjoy free swim and water games such as the Whirlpool and Tidal Wave!

Pottery
Each camper has an opportunity to create his or her own ceramics project to take home

Ecology
Ecology and the environment are meaningful for the Kum-Ba-Yah camper. Campers learn ways to respect and preserve their natural surroundings. Campers learn to tread softly on the earth by being considerate of and caring for the world around them.
